Our Journey to Handmade Soap and Non-Toxic Living

At Suds & Buds, our story began with a mother’s unwavering determination to create a healthier world for her family. Kim’s family and friends often said there wasn’t a mountain she couldn’t move—and they were right. On her journey to motherhood, Kim discovered just how many toxins surrounded us in everyday products. Determined to shield her baby’s delicate skin from harmful chemicals, she began crafting non-toxic products at home.

What started as a personal mission soon grew into a community movement. Friends and family, inspired by Kim’s dedication, reached out for guidance on eliminating toxins from their lives and requested her products.

Why Handmade Soaps Crafted in Small Batches?

At Suds & Buds, we believe in the power of small-batch craftsmanship. Each handmade soap we create is infused with care, ensuring the highest quality and cleanest ingredients. Unlike mass-produced products, our handmade soaps are free from harmful chemicals like phthalates, parabens, and carcinogens such as Polysorbate 80. Your skin, the body’s largest organ, absorbs up to 60% of what you apply to it. That’s why we carefully source non-toxic, responsibly harvested ingredients to create soaps and skincare that nurture rather than harm. Kim’s commitment to safe, natural products means you can trust our handmade soaps to support your well-being and that of your family.

Why Apothecary?

Kim’s passion for non-toxic living naturally grew from handcrafted soapmaking into the world of traditional herbal wellness. As a member of the Handcrafted Soap and Cosmetic Guild (HSCG) and an ongoing student of herbology and holistic nutrition, she is dedicated to preserving time-honored plant traditions while making them approachable for modern families. At Suds & Buds Apothecary, the focus is simple... thoughtfully crafted soaps, tallow-based products, and herbal preparations designed to support everyday wellness through intentional ingredients and traditional methods. While modern medicine absolutely has its place, Kim believes many aspects of daily self-care can be supported with herbs, nourishment, and simple routines rooted in nature.
