Every summer, my daughter heads off to horse camp.
This will actually be her third year, so we're past the nervous first-time packing stage. We know the routine, what she uses, and what she'll come home wishing she'd packed.
But even after three years, there's one thing that has surprised me.
Last summer, I mailed her a letter while she was at camp.
Not anything fancy.
Just a note telling her how proud I was of her, reminding her to have fun, be kind, and soak up every minute of the experience.
When camp was over, she brought that letter home.
She didn't tuck it away in a keepsake box.

Tell them you're proud of them.
